Meet our Head Teacher

Welcome to Star Student, I'm Deany Judd. I have an MA Honours Degree in English and Politics from Glasgow University and a PGCE certificate in secondary teaching from Strathclyde University

I taught English at  Eastwood High School in Glasgow for 8 years and during that time I marked  Higher English and Standard Grade English exam papers for the Scottish Exam Board (SEB) and GCSE English and A Level English papers for what was then the Northern Exam Board (NEB) now the AQA. I also tutored extensively and set up a company with a colleague running exam preparation courses.

Once I had my children I wanted to stay at home and while I carried on tutoring, I launched myself as a freelance writer and for the last 11 yeas I've written regularly for The Daily Telegraph, Daily Express, Daily Mail, Sunday Herald, Sunday Times Scotland and Hello Magazine. In recent months I've been tutoring friends' children which has rekindled my love of teaching and so harnessing the advances in technology, my experiences of writing for the national press and my teaching experience , I've decided the time is perfect to launch Star Student.
